Easter Sunday 2025: Celebrating the Resurrection of Our Lord

Easter Sunday is one of the most sacred and joyous celebrations in the Christian faith, commemorating the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. This year, on April 20, 2025, UMUCCA (United Methodist Church of Canada) invites all members and visitors to join in the global celebration of Christ’s victory over death. The resurrection is the cornerstone of the Christian faith, symbolizing new life, hope, and the eternal promise of salvation. It is a day to rejoice in the triumph of good over evil, light over darkness, and life over death.

At UMUCCA, Easter Sunday is not just a religious observance but a heartfelt gathering of the church family. After the solemn yet joyful service, which will focus on the powerful message of Christ’s resurrection, members of the congregation and visitors are warmly invited to share in fellowship through a potluck and drinks. This tradition provides a unique opportunity for the church family to come together, build connections, and celebrate the resurrection with food, laughter, and love.

The potluck encourages everyone to bring their favorite dishes, contributing to a diverse and delightful spread that represents the community’s unity. From hearty meals to delicious desserts, the meal becomes a symbol of how the Body of Christ comes together in unity, each person contributing to the collective celebration. It’s a time to catch up with old friends, make new ones, and reflect on the blessings of the year.
